The Project
In August 2007 YWCA England & Wales introduced DataSalon MasterVision, a user-friendly web-based system providing powerful tools for supporter segmentation, analysis and reporting.
- MasterVision works alongside the charity's existing database and campaigns systems, enabling sophisticated analysis of supporter data via an easy-to-use web interface.
- Staff can now identify trends in supporter activity, access maps showing supporter location by region and analyse loyalty and gross lifetime value.
- Powerful reporting and analysis tools provide clear business intelligence for the fundraising team, budget holders and trustees.

Our Approach
MasterVision provides an easy-to-use way for the YWCA to access and explore their supporter data.
It works alongside the charity's existing database, tracking spreadsheets and e-mail marketing system to provide an integrated view of their contacts.
User-friendly search and reporting tools allow marketing staff to work directly with their data, encouraging creative analysis.
Selections, counts and segmentation can be performed instantly and easily without requests to the IT team, freeing up internal resources.
New joiners and staff not familiar with the charity's internal systems can quickly get started with the easy-to-use web interface.
Fundraising in the charity world is highly competitive and the system aims to give the YWCA a potential lead over others in the sector.
The Results
- 1.5 million rows of source data processed and integrated each week, joining almost 40,000 unique contacts.
- Staff can explore supporter data via user-friendly web interface, and get instant answers to complex queries.
- Search more than 80 different fields, including auto-generated recency, frequency and value.
- Segments of contacts can be quickly created and then exported to Excel at the click of a button.
- Create pie charts, cross-tabs, and income reports to visually track supporter activity.
- World, US, Europe and UK maps show geographical distribution of supporters, highlighting hotspots for targeted fundraising.
- System constantly evolving to meet specific requirements of charity sector.
The MasterVision system will allow us to target our marketing more effectively and increase revenue.
